I enjoy helping authors to publish their best work. Before taking on a project, I will make sure I understand all your individual requirements.
I can produce a free sample edit of a short section of your work, to help you make up your mind. I also offer indexing.
I can edit texts in UK or US English. I have expert knowledge of many different citation systems and publishers’ house styles.

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) and Society of Indexers.
Specializing in non-fiction literature within the humanities, I also work on projects in other fields and genres. Recent clients have included Fitzcarraldo Editions, publisher of four winners of the Nobel Prize in Literature.
An Oxford graduate, I have a PhD in English Literature (see About Luke) and have published widely. My editing work is informed by my expert knowledge in fields including literature, history and religion.
